Silverado Hybrid and Tahoe Hybrid use Two-Mode Hybrid Technology, which delivers seamless, dependable power on demand by using a combination of electric and gas power. In Mode 1, at low speeds and with light loads, the vehicles can operate three ways: using electric power, engine power or any combination of the two. Mode 2 is used primarily at highway speeds or when driving conditions demand, such as towing trailers or climbing steep grades. Tahoe Hybrid and Silverado Hybrid both offer an impressive EPA estimated 20 MPG city, 23 highway.

The Volt¹ is an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle that uses a gas generator to create its own electricity. Let it charge overnight and it's ready to go 27–43 miles on a pure electric charge,² gas- and tailpipe-emissions free. After that, it uses a range-extending gas generator that produces enough energy to power it for hundreds of miles on a single tank of gas.
